Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Obituary

Michael Ray Flores was born on August 5, 1990 in Midland, TX and went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2024. He attended school in ECISD and MISD where he graduated in 2010. He worked in the restaurant industry and later in the oilfield industry. Michael chose to become a caregiver for his grandpa Pedro Cordova Sr.; our family is forever grateful for the time he devoted in caring for him during his illness until his grandfather's death.

Michael had an infectious smile and kind, warm heart. He had a comical sense of humor and had ways of cheering people up. He also loved watching and quoting movies. Michael adored spending time with his daughter and loved taking her to Mr. Gatti’s and Urban Air. They had recently enjoyed a trip to San Antonio where he spoiled her like a princess. He loved cooking and could make a meal from almost anything. His favorite comfort food was menudo his grandma would make in the winter.  He loved playing video games, his favorite being Battlefield 4.   He had a love for animals as well and had several pets in his lifetime.  Michael loved driving around listening to music. Some of his favorite artists were Joji and Childish Gambino. Michael was a very generous person and enjoyed helping people whenever he could. He would stop for every person on the side of the road if he thought he could help somehow. He also spent time reading his Bible and was knowledgeable in the Word.  Michael will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Lydia and Pedro Cordova Sr., Antonio and Estella Ybarra and Rev. Reymundo Martinez Sr.

Michael is survived by his pride and joy, his daughter Jamisyn Avery Flores, parents Jose and Lydia "Genie" Ybarra, brother Jose Ybarra II, sister Isabelle Ybarra Tavarez (Jovan), Grandmother Mary Ann Cordova-Martinez and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers: Jose Ybarra II, Adam Daniels, Jeff Daniels, Eric Flores, Aidan Montez, Samuel Montez, Fred Cordova, and Jose Moriel.

Not sure what to say?

I love you dad

I had the privilege to meet Michael as a little toddler. I enjoyed seeing him play with his Aunt Marlena and then didn’t know much about him until he was grown and a daddy to his princess. I know how much he helped people when he could and how loving and caring he was. He was a wonderful young man and it saddens me that he has passed and left a lot of people heartbroken for his loss. I pray that all this family and friends have peace in their hearts and that they get strength from God to...

Michael, we love you forever. Thank you for the fun childhood memories and for having such a big heart. You are an amazing cousin, and we are changed forever because of you. You will be missed dearly. You are now Home with our Lord! Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
