Not sure what to say?

I met Fr. Michael when he lived at the monastery in Marathon, WI, near Wausau, and helped lead a retreat for our youth group. He became a dear friend. He was a gentle, faith-filled, caring, kind, and inspirational man - with a great sense of humor! I was thrilled to re-connect when I moved to Milwaukee for college, and was able to sing with the Spanish choir at St. Francis Parish. Michael carried the spirit, and welcoming smile, of Christ with him every day. He was a blessing to the world,...

That even ten years after Fr. Michael left this earth he so deeply loved, and we are still remembering him, is significant. As seminary students in 1968-69, we were paired as associate chaplain trainees at St. Francis hospital. He was there with Wally Kosuboski, also a Capuchin. He was understated, infinitely perceptive, deeply empathetic, and divinely comedic. He mattered so much to his patients and I found in him a kindred spirit. Dear Lord how our world now yearns for such as him....

Professor Fountain was an exceptional teacher when I had him at UWM in the 1980s. I am blessed that I knew him as a teacher and later as a colleague. He will be sorely missed.

Fr Mike was a long time friend and teacher. I was very sad to learn of his passing.
God bless you...

Micheal was one of, if not the best, teachers that I have had come into my life. He is someone who opened my eyes to literature, and was a constant reminder that there are truly beautiful people in the world. He is someone who will be missed for his kind heart and his one of a kind sense of humor.

Thank you for the many years of memories - great friend, neighbor, pastor and more! Wonderful person with a soft voice and a big heart. Damian and Cyndi Zak

Michael and I worked together at UWM and I found him to always be willing to support the reading needs of students with disabilities. I am deeply saddened by his death and also know he was welcomed with open arms. Peace to you all.
