I first met Doc. Frank at NIH in 1977. I was one of his research patients, but he made it clear from our first meeting that he was more of a Friend than my Doc. Today after years of research we have 7 meds available for my condition, mostly due to his desire to find a cure in Hereditary Angioedema.
I met another patient at NIH who shared the same rare condition and we decided to marry. Doc. Frank became a Father figure during that time and tried to educate me in the path I was choosing....

Mike and Ruth

I met Mike in September 1956 when we started medical school together. We became roommates and lifelong friends. His intelligence, sense of humor, curiosity and kindness remained constant until the end.
