This is to Mike's family and close friends expressing my sympathy for his passing. Although I went to Handy and Mike went to John Glenn, we got to know each other during those years just being teenagers and having good times on weekends. Mike was a great person with a glowing, friendly personality. Peace to you, Mike and may God Bless.

As a friend of his younger brother, Tom, I really only knew Mike – (along with the Shorkey brothers, etc.) - as one of the ‘older guys’ who served as an admired role model for those of us who were slightly younger. That said, as I read these posts, I’m struck by the various references to living at Aplin Beach. Having only lived there from the mid-to-late ‘60s, I still recall it as engendering a very unique and enjoyable lifestyle and continue to look back upon it with much fondness many years...

I have been sorry that my good friend from grade school through high school had the disabling health problems he did. I loved that he used to want to get together in a "date" situation and just talk and share goals and thoughts. Several years ago, other neighborhood friends; Susie Touroo, Linda Droes and I had a nice lunch with him. He was as talkative as ever inspite of his health. We all laughed. We all spent so much time together at Aplin Beach.
