I met Mickey when he was driving the golf carts at Alameda County fairgrounds a few years back (2016), shuttling people who needed rides from the racing stands to the parking lot. It my total luck that my dad and I got Mickey, who pulled up to us with a beaming smile and asked us if we needed a ride. I noticed his "Pearl Harbor Survivor" baseball cap on, and with my dad and I being history nuts (my dad was in the service in the Army in the 50s), we started talking to him during the short ride...

Enjoyed visiting with Mickey at the 2019 all services retiree seminar on Coast Guard Island in Alameda. He had an information table about Pearl Harbor. RIP, Sailor! Fair winds and following seas.
