Michael J. Ganz

Michael J. Ganz, 80, of Holmdel, NJ died Saturday at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Mr. Ganz was employeed for 40 years with International Telephone and Telegraph, New York, NY. retiring as an associate treasurer and vice president. Mr. Ganz was a trustee at Bayshore Community Hospital, where he served on numerous hospital boards, and was Chairman of the Bayshore Community Hospital Foundation. He was the Treasurer of the Holmdel Cemetery Association, member of the Beacon Hill Country Club, Holmdel Kiwanis Club, member of the Keyport VFW Post, and former member of Bamm Hallow Country Club. He was a graduate of Long Island University, and served in the United States Army from 1946-1948. Mr. Ganz loved classical music, golf, traveling, and was an independent thinker and straight talker. He was born in New York, NY he has resided in Holmdel for over 50 years. Mr. Ganz was predeceased by his first wife Rita in 1987, and a son Michael in 1981. Surviving are his wife Barbara Hemphill Ganz, daughters, Christine McHeffey, and her husband Peter, and Karen Rauch, son, Eric Ganz, stepson, Brian Hemphill, brother, Karl Ganz, and 6 grandchildren, Peter and Caitlin McHeffey, Meredith Slifer, Lauren and Allison Rauch, and Kristen Rauch Cordasco, and his mother in law Beatrice Hoehn In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Ganz's name may be made to the Bayshore Community Hospital Foundation 727 North Beers Street, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
