Not sure what to say?

I was sad to receive a call this evening informing me of Mike's passing. I had worked as a teacher under his leadership as a Principal. He was a good, kind, energetic man to work with. Mike had a great ability to work with children and I would often see him out playing with them at recess. He had a tender spot in his heart for the ones that needed extra help and support. Mike was also a fun guy. He always seemed happy with a big smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to Suzanne and his...

I am so sad for your loss Suzanne. Mike was such a great mentor and example for so many in education as well as service with Lions. God keep you in His loving arms.

Mr. Gayda was my 4th grade teacher. I had left Elmhurst to go to catholic school for a few years. Mr. Gayda made me feel so welcomed as I was a semi-new student again. I remember I had a picture of him from a newspaper clipping after he ran in one of his races. I was so proud to be his student. Rest in peace Mr. Gayda. Sending prayers to your family and friends for strength during this most difficult time.

Suzanne,
So sorry to learn of Mike's passing. Keeping you in my prayers.

Remembering your great love story today and always.

Mr. Gayda was my first football coach at Elmhurst Elementary in Parkland. I had the great opportunity to visit with Mr. Gayda at a Lion's function in Eatonville a few years ago and it was a true blessing for me. Mr. Gayda is one of the reasons I'm an Educator. Thanks Mr. Gayda Rest in Peace.

As a year older occupant of a school bus in the 1950s, I sometimes was asked to clarify homework problems for Mike on our Hour long ride home. Many years later, He told two of my grandkids about my homework help when he was serving as their principal.

Always an extremely nice fellow, a friend to so many of us, I was happy to see him whenever our paths crossed.

Mike absolutely assured me of his good fortune in finding extreme happiness with his Suzanne.
