Not sure what to say?

Michael. Time doesn’t pass and I still think about you. Always remember this time as you supposed to come and see me and spend a great time together this holidays. You promised me so many great moments together! Love you and miss you you so much !XOXO

Dr. Michael Gibbs was on my dissertation committee at Capitol Technology University. During the academic journey, I failed at least three times. Looking back, I am very grateful for his continued confidence and encouragement to keep on going, while at times, I just lost motivation. In 2019, I successfully defended. Thank you Dr. Gibbs for your guidance and inspiration during the long journey. I will always remember you.

Michael Gibbs with Gloria de Leon, National Hispanic Institute (NHI)

Great friend, loyal supporter and Trustee of National Hispanic Institute. Still miss you Michael.

"He did not lose his place in the minds of men because he was out of their sight." -- John Henry Newman.

We remember, always.

Michael. I still have the text messages and still remember you were coming to visit me around this time in SF. Remember you every day and wish you were still here. You will always live in my heart and memories. Miss you !

Even after 7 years it still feels like a shock... I'd like to tell Michael's family that my thoughts are with them during this difficult time of year. Take good care.

Michael was a joy! We still miss him so much. His legacy and contribution with the National Hispanic Institute will forever be part of our history. We will never forget him.

Hello, my name is, Anna Marie Long. Michael, ad I were at DePaul, together. I was literally"the Old lady" at the University (single mom w/3-kids). Michale , saw the effort I made in working, studying and raising my family, and rather than set me aside beause of my "full plate" he gave me more to do. He commanded and inspired GREATNESS in the gentle, by FORCEFUL way only he could. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing, but; I KNOW HE"S IN HEAVEN.

I am gobsmacked to learn of the loss of such a great, great man! I went to college with Michael at DePaul. He taught me SO much about leadership, activism, diplomacy, and grace. I can't believe it. Thank you to the wonderful family that created and loved him. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

This world has TRULY been robbed. I know flights of angels sang thee to thy rest, my friend.

FONDEST Regards.
