In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I am sorry for your loss. I have known Mike since we were kids. One of my fondest memories is when we were real young, he was my sweetheart. We would sit on my front porch holding hands and my little sister and brother would throw rocks at us. We had some great times at Coosa Island. He will be missed. Even now, everytime I would see him, he was pleased that he had rolled my yard with reel to reel tape, not toilet paper, like most people. He is very original. I will always remember him as a...

Mike and I grew up together when you guys lived at Rugby Avenue. He and I rode our motorcycles together for a long time. I lived over on Paris Avenue and Mike ate with my family quite frequently. Needless to say, Mike and I had many great and mischevious adventures. Mike will be missed and was a part of many others lives. He was a good guy.
