Michael J. Goodwin
1985-2013
Michael John Goodwin, 27, returned to his Heavenly father on March 11, 2013. Michael was born July 20, 1985 in Hays, Kansas to Kelly and Betsy (Dunn) Goodwin.
Michael also lived in Moreno Valley, California, Delaware, Ohio and Castle Rock, Colorado, where he graduated from Douglas County High School in December of 2002. Mike was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a missionary for his church in the California Arcadia Mission.
Michael graduated from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah with a degree in criminal justice and from Utah Valley University with a degree in psychology. He graduated from the University of Utah in May of 2011 with his Masters of Social Work. He has been working as a forensic therapist at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston, Wyoming and recently completed his licensure as a licensed clinical social worker.
Michael is survived by his parents, Kelly and Betsy Goodwin, and by his brother, Mark, and sisters, Stephanie and Stacie, all of Riverton, Utah. He was welcomed home by his grandparents, Jim and Mimi Dunn and Jerry and Norma Goodwin.
Michael was a wonderful listener and lived a life filled with compassion. He will be greatly missed. We will remember him at a graveside service to be held at the Herriman City Cemetery located at 12300 So. 6000 W. in Herriman, Utah on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM. The family will be at the LDS Chapel located at 13122 Herriman Rose Blvd. following the services to receive visitors.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation in Michael's name so that other families can experience the same joy that we received from Michael during his lifetime. www.broomheadfuneralhome.com

We are so sorry to hear that Mike passed away. We had the great blessing of serving in the Legacy Singles ward with Mike. We were his Bishop and Bishops wife. We love Mike, what an amazing son, brother you have. We are so sorry we could not be there ourselves to tell you of the great experiences we had with Mike. We are serving a Mission in the Micronesian Islands and could not come home. Please accept our love and Gratitude for the time we had with Mike. He will be greatly missed. Elder &...
