Michael Gordon, born May 7, 1963 in Florence County, was a son of Dorothy Gordon and Edsel "SL" Rush. He was educated in the public schools of Florence, SC, and a 1981 graduate of Wilson High School. He was an honor graduate of Devry Institute of Technology with an Associates' in Electronics Engineering and was a member of the Presidential Honor Society. He was an engineer with Nypro Healthcare, where he served as Production Supervisor. On December 26, 2009, Michael married the love of his life, Rev. Michelle Law-Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Johnny Gordon, Joe Nathan Zimmerman and Emmy Zimmerman, and step brother, Irell Rush; one sister, Virginia Gordon; and a niece, Tonia Zimmerman. Those left to cherish his memories, in addition to his wife of the home, are two sisters, Betty Durant and Patricia Gordon of Florence, SC; two brothers, Heyward (Geraldine) Zimmerman of Atlanta, GA and Ronnie (Sharon) Gordon of Florence, SC; paternal siblings, Lou Ann (William) Pyatt, Ida (D.D.) Washington of Columbia, SC, Sallie Burgess of Lake City, SC, and Leroy Rush, Olanta, SC; two aunts, Agnes (Wallace) McFadden and Susie (Wendell) Nichols of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

I'm so sorry that Michael has left us so soon. He was a kind, considerate and thoughtful person and a joy to be around. He made bad days good and good days better. Michael had one of those smiles that just made the world a better place. He will be missed by all of us. You are in my prayers.
