Mike was a cherished friend of my father dating back to the 60's. I am very grateful for their friendship and the sports camaraderie they shared for 50+ years. Mike (or as I knew him Mr. Gordon or Mr. G) was a staple in my childhood. I have many fond memories of him and his love and devotion to his family and volunteer efforts. If you went to the Boys & Girls Club in the 80's and 90's, there were two people you probably met right away and never forgot. They were Sue Fletcher and Mike Gordon, and they made a point to make you feel welcome and made sure you had fun. Mike stood out in a crowd, he had a massive frame, strong arms and hands that could squeeze the air out of a football. Mike was a friend and mentor to my son Benjamin at the Boys Club in the 80's. I attribute Mikes guidance, mentoring and friendship with Ben to have a been a very large influence to the good man my son is today. Men like Mike Gordon are not made everyday. RIP Mike.
