MICHAEL V. of Philadelphia, PA, the Olney section, originally from East Falls on Calumet Street passed away peacefully at age 94 on April 20, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Eleanor (nee Holp). He is also survived by his 4 beloved children, Eileen (Laporte, Thomas A.), Michael J., Janet (Rorer, John), and Stephen (Barbara). He was a proud Pop-pop of 8 grandchildren Melissa (Koepke, Jonathan), Stephen, Kimberly (Purr, Louis), Nicholas (Dana), Leanne, Thomas J., Brianna (Lafty, Josh), and Michael; and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Anthony (Joan), and his 2 sisters, Helen Yoast and Joanne, as well as many nieces and nephews. Michael was pre-deceased by his parents, Giuseppe and Josephine (nee Badame), 2 sisters and their spouses, Mary Sciarillo (Francis) and Agnes DiCola (Thomas), as well as brother-in-law, Howard Yoast. He enjoyed being surrounded by loved ones and spending quality time with family. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a long-time Boeing Helicopter employee. Due to the current pandemic, a small memorial service will be held at Slabinski Funeral Home for family members, and in an effort to keep everyone safe, we are planning a celebration of Mike's life in the future.
