I am so sad to learn that Mike has died. It doesn't seem possible to still that resounding guffaw of a laugh. I worked with and for him at NSP/Xcel. Mike was a major influence in my life and career and helped shape who I am as a leader and a working mother. His roles and influence with the company, regulators, environmentalists and vendors will continue to contribute to the area's well being for decades. Vern enjoyed working with Mike and for him. They had a neat relationship. Vern missed him, and wanted to get
in touch, but it was too late. Vern often remembered some of the things working with Mike, and a smile
would come his face remembering. Our sympathies are sent to Patti and Family.

We enjoyed the time that Mike spent in Eau Claire with NSP(WI).Mike’s involvement with their kids was great,but was surpassed his by his love for the grandchildren and Patti.Patti remember all your friends are only a phone call away.

Uncle Mike knew how to host a family holiday gathering. I remember his beaming smile in front of a massive turkey waiting to be carved and his deep belly laugh ringing through halls at Christmas time. I hope he is smiling & laughing now. ❤

I worked for Mike for several years at Great Plains Institute. He continuously made efforts to connect with and support colleagues on a personal level, and his presence brightened up the room. I am grateful for everything I learned from Mike. He demonstrated through action how to be a successful boss, mentor, and friend. His spirit lives on.

So saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I knew Mike because I was fortunate to have both worked for and with him back in the days of Northern States Power. I considered Mike both as a mentor and a friend. Even after after our careers took different paths, we liked to stay in touch. I looked forward to sharing our family Christmas letters each year, which many times resulted in a phone call to each other to get "the rest of the story". I will miss those calls. I met Mike in my bible study about 17 years ago. We eventually went to retreats together. Mike was a man that loved his family and Jesus Christ. Mike was a guy I talked to about personal things I needed perspective on and looked to for advice. I will miss him, but mostly, I am thankful he was part of my life.
