Michael George Gresik, known to those who loved him as “Flicker,” passed away on November 23, 2024, aged 87. Preceded in death by parents Arlene and Michael Gresik, brothers Paul (the late Jean) Gresik and Edward (James Pavlicovic) Gresik, sister Ann M. Belmont, beloved niece Judith Ann Belmont, and nephew Paul Michael Gresik. Beloved uncle to Pamela (John) Eggum, James (Virginia) Gresik, and Frank (Maribeth) Gresik, and dear great uncle to John, Michael, Jamie, Kate, Drew, Henry, Dylan, and Tess. Formerly of DeKoven Street on Chicago’s West Side, Flicker was beloved by neighbors in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood for over 50 years. A special thanks to Lou, Minqui, Olga, Robert, and Fred for their friendship and care. An avid Chicago sports fan who worked for the Chicago Park District for 34 years before retirement, he witnessed his beloved Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs win the World Series and multiple championships for the Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Bulls. Flicker will be remembered for his kindness, laughter, and love of Chicago sports. Funeral arrangements through Petersen-Bassi. Visitation Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at Peterson-Bassi Chapels, 6938 W. North Ave, Chicago, from 9:30a.m. till 10:30a.m. Interment is private. Please omit flowers.
