Mr. Michael Robert Griffin, Sr. 52, of Gilman died suddenly Wednesday January 25, 2006 in Gilman. He was born on June 5, 1953 in Newport a son of Marion (Labounty) and the late Lawrence Griffin.

Michael was a member of the Moose Legion in St. Johnsbury. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very proud loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He would do anything for anyone.

He is survived by his children, Michael Griffin Jr. and his wife Nicole of Springfield, and Kathy Metras and her husband Jason of Coventry, and by his grandchildren, Jeremiah Liberty, Brady Metras, and Alanna Griffin, and by his mother Marion Griffin of Barton, and by his brothers, Francis Griffin of Springfield, David Griffin of Brattleboro, Allen Griffin and his wife Georgette and a sister, Diane Bapp and her husband Charles both of Barton, and by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday January 28, 2006 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport (formerly Sias Ave) Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral service on Saturday morning. Spring interment will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery. Should friends desire contributions in Mike’s memory may be made to the North Country Hospital Renal Dialysis, c/o Wendy Franklin, Development Office, 189 Prouty Dr, Newport, Vt. 05855 or to the Loom # 1779, 2388 Portland Street, St. Johnsbury, Vt. 05819.
