Not sure what to say?

Dr. Hackler operated on my dad several years back. I will never forget the time that he took with my dad, my mom and I when he drew a picture of the heart and the operation that he would perform on my dad the following day. His compassion was priceless and this world has lost a wonderful human being. But what impressed us the most, was his request to say a prayer with us before he left the room - how many doctors today profess their faith in God much less request to say a prayer with the...

I was blessed to meet Dr. Mike Hackler in a little more unusual way and place--in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in summer of 2006, through my beloved Santa Fe friend, a native of Baton Rouge, Frances Kean, when Mike journeyed to Santa Fe for a conference and, in the mysterious ways of the Divine, looked up an old acquaintance, Frances, fell immediately in love and was to take a Baton Rouge girl home as a wife! I have been for whatever reason, a witness to the year Dr. Mike and Frances were granted...

Dr. Hackler diagnosed my father with the same cancer in March of 05. The compassion he gave to myself and my sisters after that surgery was overwhelming. I cannot express in words my feelings for his family and friends. I know your loss must be great.

To all of Mr. Hackler’s family and friends,
We are very sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one and our alumnus. We are most grateful for all that he did to support deserving Engineering students here and other LSU organizations. Our thoughts and sympathies are certainly with you.
On behalf of the students, faculty and staff of the LSU College of Engineering and
Dr. Zaki Bassiouni, Dean and Dr. Kalliat T. Valsaraj, Chair of Chemical Engineering

What can I say about the "Rose Doctor" a rose by any other name, would smell just as sweet. To me that is what he was a sweet man and human being. Kind to all who came in contact with him. He will always be remembered as the one who cared. God Bless his family and the world for having known him.

Dr Hackler performed an aortic valve replacement procedure on my mother in 2002. I will never forget how he prayed with her during her first office consultation, not for her healing, but for Gods will to be done. We had comfort in knowing that God was in that operating room, for the bible says "where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them. God was with Dr Hackler, and now you can have comfort in knowing that he is with God. He will have many stars in...

Mike was truly one in a million. He was the most compassionate man
I have ever known. I had the honor of knowing and working with him when I practiced Cardiology in Baton Rouge from 1985 to 1999. He was a dear friend, colleague and mentor. In 1997 he saved my father's life by performing a coronary bypass. I felt a special gratitude to Mike because he was so good to my father, my mother, my brother and me. I was able to see first hand why all his patients loved him.
To the...

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Hackler at CVT. I was extremely sad to find out he was sick. He was one of the kindest, most caring, & compasionate person I have ever had the opportunity to work with! He had a heart of gold and even to this day when I see roses he is the first person that comes to mind. I always enjoyed walking into my office and finding one of his beautiful roses. It always made my day! I enjoyed the time I spent working with him. when I had the opportunity to talk...

Anna, Jennifer, and Michael, I just wanted to let you know that I am going to miss Uncle Mike very much. I am so sorry that I was not able to come in town for everything, but you have been in my thoughts and prayers. When I close my eyes all I can see is Christmas time with the family, and if I listen I can hear Uncle Mikes laugh from across the room. I have a lot of fond memories of family times at Christmas. Your dad was an amazing man that we are really going to miss. I love you guys, and...
