Not sure what to say?

I miss Mike. Saw something the other day that was funny and pointed out to my wife, "Mike would have loved that !" https://youtu.be/fb7ekOiy17M?feature=shared

Bear and I were suitemates in Aggieland for a couple of years. He got me into Bonfire, which generated a ton of great memories for me. Bear was a very likeable guy. I haven't seen him in 35 years, but have very fond memories. I bet Bear is listening to ELO and watching his beloved Ags win every game up in heaven. Thanks for being a friend.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Mike's death as he was a very dear friend from our years at A&M. He was always larger than life with the most engaging personality. Funny, witty and a true friend to so many during our college years. We ask God's ever presence to be with his family in the difficult days ahead. We offer our deepest condolences to his precious family.

Lisa, Katie, and Lauren,
I met Mike in 1981 through mutual friends and immediately bonded with him. I spoke with him frequently, usually about common sense (or lack thereof), humorous news events, and all things Aggie. I last spoke with him on 12/30/19 and we shared a few laughs about past and upcoming events. I don't remember a conversation that didn't reference "I told Lisa last night" or "as I tell my girls". All of you were the highest priority in his life and held such a special...

Haines Family,

went to High School with Mike and many fond memories of his vibrant spirit. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Chris Gatjanis

Dearest Lisa, Katie, and Lauren,

I haven't seen Mike in years (I moved from Dallas in 1979). He was a huge part of our high school group and such a nice guy always with that smile. Am not surprised at all that he grew up to become such a great husband and father.

I did however lose my sweet, wonderful dad suddenly and my heart goes out to you all. All I can say is that after 40 years if he hadn't of been that wonderful person, I wouldn't be who I am and smile at all...

Lisa, Katie, and Lauren...Mike was such a good friend and a dear man. Sending love and prayers to you all.
Patty, Paul, & Jess

My deepest sympathies and condolences to Lisa, Katie, Lauren.

Mike was one of my favorite people on the planet.

He was a man's man, straight forward and honest and had the wit and humor that was a cross between a Texas Ranger of yesteryear, a fighter pilot and Monty Python.

I will miss Mike.

For me, two things sum up the Mike Haines I know . . .

Google on YouTube "The Right Stuff Is That a Man?" and Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer" and...

I first met Mike Haines circa 1982 at his former law firm . . . Counts, Dodge & Ringer. From the 'get go' it was obvious to me that Mike was a very bright man with a winsome personality and a contagious sense of keen wit. Most importantly to me, if Mike said it, you could always rely on his honesty and integrity . . . Mike told it like it was without 'shading.' For many years, I was a partner with Mike in oil & gas venture, and I always apprecitated his reliable insights and common sense...
