HANK, Michael – Of Grand Blanc, age 53, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his residence, from congestive heart disease.



Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 10, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Gary Koenigsknecht officiating.


 


Those desiring may make contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church Food Pantry.


 


Visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.


 


Michael will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass.


 


Michael was born in Flint, Michigan on January 28 1963, the son of Chester R. and Joyce (Wiest) Hank.


 


Mike graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1981 and the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in 1990.


 


He lived in Traverse City, Cedar, Elk Rapids, Michigan, New Jersey and Alaska.


 


He owned Hank’s Heating in Cedar, Michigan in the late 90’s and was Superintendent at the Genesee Water and Waste Pollution Control Center from 2000-2007.


 


His hobbies included photography, bird watching; he was an avid reader and chef and had a fascination and love of animals and loved Animal Planet. Mike loved swimming with his grandsons and spending time with his lifelong best friend, Joe Gurzick.

We will forever miss you Mike!


 


He was preceded in death by sister, Jeanne Hank.

Never had the pleasure of meeting Michael, but work with his tools at Flint, WPC.

Miss you more than words Dad.

Oh Joyce and family I'm truly sorry. I just found out about Mike's passing; what a devastating blow to lose two of your children. My heart is heavy; I hope you have found some sort of peace.

Dear Joyce and Chet. I cannot say how sorry I am that I didn't find out about Michael till today. Saw it on the channel 12 Obit. list. My goodness, I can't imagine your feelings about this. I always enjoyed Mike's company! He was always a pleasure to be around!! He will be missed!

Our condolences to the Hank family. He is the one that introduced me to my husband Tony over 21 years ago at the Lamplighter lounge. Mike was always the life of the party and have so many great memories of all the fun we had with him. He will be greatly missed .
