Not sure what to say?

I met Dr. Harpold at a Down syndrome conference many years ago. I recall a very kind and considerate human being who responded to my vexing questions with great patience. I am so very sorry to learn of his sudden passing. I did not know the man beyond this simple experience but he left a strong impression in my mind. My sincere condolences to his family...and thank you for his service! We shed our human form but our legacy lives on forever as does our spirit. Who was it who said we are...

I enjoyed knowing Mike and played tennis with him at Quail Valley where he and Gin were long time members. He was such a kind and thoughtful person who would go way out of his way to help you in any way he could. The world needs lots more Mikes and sadly there are fewer and fewer like Mike. As his obituary said, he had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor. It's just hard to believe that he has left us, and he will be missed by all who knew him.

We met Michael at an NDSC convention years ago and looked forward to talking with him every year. He was a truly magnetic person, in part because he focused not on himself but on others. Losing him is like losing a library of knowledge and compassion.
