Not sure what to say?

I was 2 years behind Mike at SFS and on the basketball team he captained. Mike under Dick Mattingly led SFS to its first ever win over a City League opponent his senior year, DeVilbiss. I attended his funeral in Atlanta, where I now live. The church was packed. In the eulogy by his ND roommate, Mike at ND was just like the guy we admired at SFS, smart, athletic, and popular. Mike's greatest legacy is the family he was so proud of.

Mike at our 50th STFS reunion.

Mike had a great sense of humor and he always encouraged you. When I wasn't doing well, he'd kid me and say, "You can do it. You're a Gesu boy!" At our 50th STFS reunion, he took me aside and told me he thought of me every day. When I stood in disbelief, he assured me that when he took a shower every morning, he would look at his knee and see the cinder scar that I had caused when I pushed him down on the cinder parking lot behind Gesu in 7th grade!

Dear family of Michael I am seventy three and am from Toledo. I have a question. As a scout did Mike go to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico? If so Dr. Allen Cichanski and I have fond memories of Mike as a friend an fine scout. Sincerely, David Van Wormer P.S. my father Robbie Van Wormer was the scout leader of that adventure.

Although we attended SFS together, I especially remember Mike from grade school & Boy Scouts at Gesu. I always looked up to him and John who were both models and blessings for me during those years.

So sad for your lose. Mike was a great guy in HS. As a member of the class of 59 we were very close to all those in the class of 58 and we looked up to Mike through out our days at St. Francis
