Not sure what to say?

I first met Mike in the mid 50's in Solana Beach. He had a white '56 Chevy and would pick me up along with Brooke and Kenny and I'm sure others but I can't remember who and take us to San Dieguito High School. He always had a smile on his face and was always in a good mood. We had some great times in high school and in the Juggs car club. Mike was one of a kind and is really going to be missed.

I am extemely saddened at the loss of this gentle man. I was just a customer of Hawthorne Tire, but the first time I talked to him, I felt like I wanted to know him forever. Always kind, thoughtful, a smile that would make your day. My condolences to the Hawthorne Family. He left behind a wonderful tradition for the family to follow.

Even though we didn't get to know Mike as well as we would have liked, he was such a pleasant person to have as a next door neighbor. He was always smiling, and greeted each day as a blessing. WE were blessed to have him as a neighbor and will miss his cheery smiling face!

The Dorsey family send love to the Hawthorne family. John Hawthorne was one of the best, I will always remember the football days of Fallbrook High, When our boys played. May God bless you all.
Best regards the Dorsey family

The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We can take comfort in the fact that Mike is with our heavenly Father and smiling down on us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends. God Bless, Chip & Deb

I first met Michael when I took a company truck in for new tires over 20+ years ago. The warm smile and family atmosphere was not what I expected but now looking back I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised. You see each time I saw Michael he treated me as if I was his only customer always going out of his way to ensure I was satisfied with my service. Gentle, smiling and happy will always be my memory of him. To the Hawthorne family, thank you. Thank you for sharing Michael with us, the...

I can't say more than my oldest brother, Shayn - but I can add that dad certainly was an incredibly kind man. His friends and customers all seem to share the sentiment that he was a one of a kind person who genuinely loved others more than himself. In talking of his granddaughter Addyson, I quote him in saying "She is beautiful, and she takes after her mother and grandmothers." A short example of dad always including a compliment for all that he loved. My wife, Heather, mom, and Heather's...

My dad was an exceptional man; A loving father, an adoring husband, a passionate patriot, and a business owner always ready to help those in need. The world needs more people like him and I hope the world can change to become more like him as well. Thank you God for letting me be the son of this incredibly loving man and thank you to the people and the churches of our North County community for helping me and my family through this difficult time.

Peace be with you.

My family truly loved Michael Hawthorne as he treated us so well over the years at the Hawthorne Tire store. You don't meet people like him often in life and we will not forget him. We missed him when he retired from the Hawthorne store but he passed down his exceptional code of ethics to the family who now run the store. To the Hawthorne family - we are sorry for your loss and may God bring you peace in this time of sorrow.
