Not sure what to say?

Mike was friends with two of my older brothers first, but he always made sure to say Hi when he was over and even at school. He was a nice guy.

I've recently been told by my brother Tim that my friend Mike has passed . My most recent experience with Mike was at my nieces wedding reception, in which he made me feel we had talked the week before. In reality it had been at least 25 years. We had a refreshing visit in which he ran to his car and bring back a book which he had written, and autographed it specifically for me. TheHeaton family has always been famous to our family and very much respected. I will always remember Mike with...

Prayers and condolences to the family. I am saddened by this news. I do not know Michael personally; I was just a fan (reader) of his Minister of Culture column and I was sad when that disappeared from The Plain Dealer. God's peace, Judy S.

RIP Michael! I'll always remember you from 1st grade on! My sincere condolences to his family.

Get along, Kid Charlemagne You were the best in town Love always, Jeanne D.

Prayers surround the Heaton Family. I met Michael through his sister Sharon when she lived in Akron. He entertained us with his great wit and incredible mind. After 9/11, he helped me with Flight93 as we tried to raise awareness for the 1st Anniversary. Michael brought the Plain Dealer to our plight. He did what none of us were able to do. He opened the heart of our nation again. Michael, you blazed a trail, you indelibly left your mark.... May God welcome you Home.

I'm a Cleveland native living in NYC. I met C. Michael Heaton in 1974 when we were both freshmen at Kent. We lived together 77-78 and both switched our majors to TV and had ridiculous adventures together that still made us laugh hysterically as recently as Tuesday and Wednesday October 6 and 7, 2022 when I happened to be visiting him for the first time in 8 years at his--and Bridget's--home. We caught up. I am shocked and stunned and very sad from this loss. My sincere condolences to his...

To the friends and family of Michael Heaton, please accept my condolences and heartfelt sympathy for your loss. As an avid reader, I was always counting down the days until the next 'Minister of Culture' column was out, loving every word. Michael was Cleveland and Cleveland was Michael. He spoke for the rest of us as only a true Clevelander could. Sending all the love and light and healing your way. This city will miss him.

My condolences to the Heaton family. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and may him and Chuck be celebrating their reunion.
