Michael E. Henderson October 1st, 1952~January 5th, 2011 Mike "The Highway Star" Henderson knew how to catch a salmon, he knew the lyrics to almost every rock and roll song and he knew how to make a garden bloom. And what he knew best was how to live an authentic life. He was a spirited child...

I knew Mike for about 11 years, through my husband Doug. I found Mike to be a great source of knowledge and inspiration in Union matters over the years. I loved his home 'decor', and his sense of fun and humor. His brave battle over the last four years was truly amazing. He is a testament to the power of one's will to live!
He also had a huge heart of gold. I will never forget when we moved to our new home 7 years ago, and Mike organized a moving party. After all of the large...

I had the great pleasure of meeting and getting to know Mikee while working at the credit union. He was always a very generous guy. If I was ever having a bad day he would always cheer me up, whether it be a joke or giving of his advice. When he would walk into the credit union the general mood of the credit union would change and it would always be a lot more fun. He will always have a special place in my heart.

I had the great pleasure of meeting and getting to know Mikee while working at the credit union. He was always a very generous individual. It was always fun when he walked into the credit union. If I was ever having a bad day he would always cheer me up, he knew exactly what to say to make me feel better, whether it was a joke or his giving of advice. He will always have a special place in my heart.

I met Mike when I joined the PO over 26 years ago. I quickly learned of Mike's ability to pursue 'justice' shortly after my 90 day probation. I was wrongfully accused of an accident at work and I became the fall guy, being a new employee. To say Mike pursued justice is an understatement. Mike and Steve Taylor prevailed on my behalf.
This was the start of my friendship with Mike, and I was also going through a divorce. Mike always asked how it was going, was always willing to...

I only had the priviledge of knowing Mike since 2007, upon becoming office manager of the GSAL-APWU. He was a very special individual, and I will truly miss his quick smile, witty sense of humor, and sharing stories about great places to check-out in the Port Townsend, Cape George and Tri-Areas, where both our families enjoy spending our free time.
Men should aspire to be like you, Mikee. The world would sure be a better place to live.
Sincerely,
Jan...

Did we all get to tell Mike how much we loved him? If you didn't I did it for you. He is missed from all of the MVS family.

Mike was one of the most amazing people I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
Even when he was suffering the horrible effects of the experimental cancer drugs, the sores and blisters, etc. He never complained much.
One day when we were talking he said he had been at the cancer center going through an infusion and wondering why he was doing this when he knew his cancer was terminal...then he heard a little girl in the next room crying, she was going through the same thing....

Mike was much loved in the infusion room at SCCA.
When he would arrive there was the call out of "Mike's here"...he was so interested in everybody...it was never about him but about us. It was amazing how he knew everybody's name and wanted to know what was going on with them.
Oh, and always good talk about politics...it was never boring with Mike around.
He will be missed by many...love you, Mike.
