Still think about you often, Mike. You were a great friend, teacher and role model for me

I got to know Mike and Nancy when we were residents together in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our program was small, so the residents became very close to each other. Mike was like a brother to me. My wife and I are devastated by this news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy, Lauren, Drew , and Jake. We love you.

Mike was a great guy, classmate, & fraternity brother. I feel blessed to have known him during our time at Wake Forest. He was a person of genuine intelligence, integrity, & kindness. Mike was loved and respected by all his KA brothers for his friendship, camaraderie, and leadership when we needed it. Rest easy, Mike and we'll see you at that great 'Circle Up' in Heaven!

I am so very sorry and very sad for the lose of my Doctor and my friend Dr Michael Henderson. I've known Dr Mike for the past 20 to 25 years, which he preformed 4 operations on my feet. He was truly a very good surgeon, always kind and a very thoughtful man. He always took time to talk to his patients and to understand their problems. I was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Mike Henderson. He was on call in August 1994 when I was hit head on in a car accident. One of my feet was almost twisted off and the other was crushed. I had multiple other injuries. I always felt that he put me back together again and even though, he wasn't sure I would ever walk again, I did and have been self sufficient. He performed multiple surgeries on me through the years. What a shock! Dr. Henderson took great care of me after a car accident in 1998. I broke my right foot to pieces. Dr. Henderson told me my foot looked like someone who had been in a plane crash. But with his talents in surgery he put my foot back together again. I thank God for him to this day! My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

I am totally floored to hear of Dr. Mike's passing while reading the obituary for Dr. Ray! Both of these men were very special and such a pleasure to work with! Not only did I work with Dr. Mike he just happened to be my doctor as well! Mrs. Nancy I unfortunately know what your going through as I lost my husband of 35 years in 2017!
