What a special guy! He was frequently at our home with the Dunbar boys. I considered him as one of my brothers. He had the gift of humor nestled in a kind spirit. Rest in the peace you so rightly deserve.

Deepest sympathy to all of you. I had the pleasure of working with Mike at NCES. I didn't consider him a coworker and later my boss but a friend. We had great Christmas parties at his home in Lancaster. Family always came first even before work and I appreciated that as I had a young son at the time. Special hugs to Zach and Jeremy.

Mike was a mentor to me when I arrived as a brand new school psychologist in northern NH. He gave me opportunities to grow my professional and leadership skills while employed at NCES under his supervision. I enjoyed his sense of humor and a tennis match or two with him over the years. He made an important impact on public education in the north country. I'm sorry for his passing.
