My dearest son in law and the father of our two grandsons has worn a metal ID bracelet with Mike Medder's name on it ever since I've known him. I remember this date, so special to him and you, each year. His name is Steven Lybeck LeForge. May Mike's memory be a blessing.

I grew up in Avon Lake having graduated in 1975.

I read quite a bit about Captain Medders tonight. He gave up his life to protect our freedoms and way of life.

I salute Captain Medders and all of our fallen soldiers for their patriotic service and ultimate sacrifice.

May his family find comfort in knowing he will never be forgotten.

Well, I'm stuck here at work and I found myself talking about Mike (out loud) for the first time in years. RIP, Mike. See you on the other side.
