Not sure what to say?

ORABSE (Oregon Alliance of Black School Educators) just celebrated the 50 year anniversary. Your contributions were heralded. You are remembered.

This morning I was listening to the radio and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was being talked about. Mr. Jordan was my principal at Sabin in the 1980´s and because of him I had the joy of learning about Dr. King as a child. As an adult I continued learning and working towards the goals I learned at Sabin. I went back to Sabin for many years for their Dr. King day celebration (back when you could just walk in to a school). I no longer live in Portland but I am actively grateful every January for...

I STILL miss Michael! Paula and family, peace and blessings to you. Lurlene

Michael is still missed. Good lives on forever. I will always remember your Dad, Paula.

I don't know what to add to my reflections on Mr. Jordan in 2010 except to say again that he was the most child-and-community-centered educator I ever met. He was a kind man. He was an innovator. He was fearless in his advocacy for children and families. We were blessed to have him at Sabin through those important years for our children. Thank you for offering this opportunity to remember and appreciate him again.

My son, Chris, still remembers Mike as his principal at Sabin School. What a fantastic role model and friend! He has been missed.

The best Principal ever!!!!!!

I do not know if this is our beloved favorite teacher "Mr J." that taught at Hayhurst Elementary for awhile. If so, he was tolerant, kind, wise and impossibly "cool". I am so happy to hear how his career continued and all of the lives he touched.

I am so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. We started Highland Grade School together in kindergarten and were friends up to graduation from Jefferson, and I was hoping to see him at the upcoming 50th reunion next year - Rest well my friend.
