Michael M. Kablack, 88, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the Corcoran House, after a period of declining health.
He leaves four children: Mark Kablack, and his wife, Jody, of New Braintree, MA, Kris Kablack, and his wife, Lisa, of Briarcliff Manor, NY, Kara Kablack, and her husband, Steve Vitarbo, of Peekskill, NY, and Kerry Kablack, of Montpelier, VA; a sister, Mary Ann McPoil, and her husband, Thomas, of Arvada, CO; a sister-in-law, Sue Kablack, of Hamilton, NY; and five grandchildren: Justine, Brianna, Kaitlin, August, and Willow. One brother, William Kablack, predeceased him.
Mike was born and raised in Yonkers, NY, son of the late Michael and Mary (Pawluk) Kablack. He was a graduate of Iona College, NY, and a US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War.
For many years, he worked in Human Resources at The Hebrew Home for the Aged, Bronx, NY, retiring in 1995. He then lived in Florida for several years, before moving to Massachusetts four years ago.
He was a former member of Christ the King Parish and St. Denis Parish, Yonkers, NY, and was involved with the church choir. He was a proud member of the Marine Corps. Veterans Association, Westchester Chapter for many years.
Funeral services, and burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Yonkers, NY, are private. There are no public calling hours. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the Kablack family suggests that memorial donations be made to Veterans, Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
