Not sure what to say?

Late again but I still try to write something every year. The world is still dealing with the pandemic but I think most of us believe that we just have to learn to live with it. And now Russia (still Vladimir Putin) has invaded Ukraine and raised the specter of a protracted war in Europe maybe even chemical or nuclear. And still so much division in the US - crazy stuff. I imagine you would find all this very disheartening. I know I do. Suzanne posted a nice photo of you two on FB as a...

Didn't forget - just late. Would you believe we are still substantially locked down but vaccines are on the way. The world will be different after this. Joe Biden is president after defeating Donald Trump (yes, he was president). Not sure what you would make of the world today. Suzanne posted a nice remembrance of you on FB - lots of comments. Carole Hersh and I are the only ones left of the 6 in the Buffalo gang. Seems so long ago (it is!). Til next year.

Missed the anniversary again and decided not to post on FB. We're in the midst of a pandemic and the world is in chaos. Not kidding. Larry and I are locked down at our home in Ecuador as the virus is especially dangerous for older people (71 now). Hoping for the best considering ... til next year. - Laurie

Usually, I post something on Facebook on the anniversary of your death, but not this year. But I didn't forget ... this year we lost another close friend on the 13th of March. Some other losses this year. You were spared some of that by dying at a fairly young age. On a happier note, we (still with Larry, married now!) are about to embark on a two month trip to the Greek islands and then a round the world trip in the fall. Might as well keep enjoying life as long as we can. If you're...

Missed recent birthdays and anniversaries but had to write to let you know that the Kings have just won game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals in LA sweeping the Devils so far. Sorry you can't be here to see it. Game 4 is on Wed so keep your fingers crossed.

Sorry, your bithday is tomorrow. I always did have trouble with it ...

It's been a long time since I've written, but I think of you often with great sadness that you're not with us anymore. Tue would have been your 61st birthday - not quite old enough for social security. I often wonder about your lifelong fear that you wouldn't live a long life and how that really came true. I also wonder how you felt at the end when you knew you were not going to survive. I am well, retired in Ecuador and feeling pretty good about the decisions I've made for this stage of my...

A year ago tomorrow that you left us - I've meant to write often and remember special days like your birthday, but, as usual, the days have come and gone without my following through. I don't know what made me search for the guest book tonight as I didn't remember the exact date of your death - must be some kind of muscle memory. Anyway, even though I rarely saw you in recent years, I really miss knowing you're there. I will light a candle for you tonight.

29 years ago today.
