Not sure what to say?

Having known both Mike (Eastern High School) and Judy (my freshman roommate at the University of Kentucky), I want to wish my sincerest condolences to Judy and her family. I remember Mike as a great guy and Judy as fun loving person. It seems Mike and Judy had a wonderful, exciting life and hope those memories sustain her during this most difficult times. Know Judy and family will be in my thoughts.

He was quite the adventurer! PAT SAMPLE

My condolences to the family. I was a teenager when I knew Dr. Karges but I recall his passion for life and adventure! I'll never forget going offshore in a 16' Boston Whaler to go Scuba Diving. Looking back on that adventure, that took some courage! May he rest in peace and may you all find comfort in good memories of such a wonderful person.

Judy, Kevin and Steve, my heart breaks for you during this most difficult time. Dr. Karges hired me as an assistant during my high school years and with his mentoring started my medical career journey. He was a wonderful, intelligent, and skilled surgeon and I am thankful for those days working for him. I will always remember how much he loved his family. I pray our God of all peace and hope, wraps you in his loving arms during this most sorrowful time and gives you strength in the days...

Remembering what a great guy Mike was and all the fun times with him and Judy. Sending thoughts and condolences to all family.

Mike was one of the best friends a person could wish for. We were neighbors in our dental offices, and lived close to each other on the river. Mike and Judy always welcomed me into their home unconditionally, making me feel like part of the family. His name comes up almost daily with friends and patients... I will miss hikm dearly. My deepest sympathy to his family. Dave

Mike Karges and the neighborhood gang in 1959 playing poker in Louisville, Kentucky

This is how I will always remember my boyhood best friend Mike Karges. This photo was taken in 1959 when the neighborhood gang (Mike and Pat Hepp, Bob and Bill Stone, George Lewis, Kenny Martin and myself) were playing poker in the subdivision. Mike graduated from Eastern High School and played trombone in the school's orchestra. He could have easily played football, basketball on the school's varsity. We played a lot of football and basketball in the neighborhood those days, and he was...

I am so saddened to hear of Mike's passing. He was an excellent surgeon and colleague. He will be sorely missed.
