Michael Patrick Kelley

Mike was a dear friend who I first met in graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh in the 1960's. We stayed in touch over the years and got together whenever we could, sometimes at debate tournaments, sometimes at the National Communication Association convention, and occasionally when he moved somewhere close to me. Twice, Mike, David Cornelius and I traveled to Portland, Oregon to visit our mentor, Robert Newman. I last saw Mike while he was living in Cathedral City, CA. I was deeply...

I am saddened to learn of Mike's death. He was a classmate and friend at the University of Pittsburgh when we were both graduate students there. He was an honorable man who was devoted to his students, his colleagues, and the mission of liberal education. He loved living and working in California. I feel fortunate to have known him.

I just found out that Mike had passed away. I am so sorry to hear that. He was a good friend in high school where we met and for many years after even though are paths were quite divergent. My sympathy and prayers to his family and friends.
