Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, Elwood Obituary

Michael “Mike” William Knauer, age 43 of Frankton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at his home following a hard fought battle with cancer.  He was born on March 17, 1982 in Tipton, the son of William “Bill” Knauer and Christie M. (Smith) Kinnett.  Mike was a member of the class of 2000 at Tipton High School.  He married the love of his life, Candace L. Greene on September 30, 2000 and they spent nearly 25 years of marriage together.  Mike worked as an operational manager at Franklin Window and Door.  He was a devoted member of Florida Station Church of God in Anderson.  Mike enjoyed all things that involved being outdoors, especially hiking, riding his bicycle, and shooting his guns.  He tried his best to always stay in top physical fitness, and spent many hours working out with his son, Elijah.  Mike was a very supportive dad to his children, Elijah, Raegan, and Braelynn in all their school and church activities, and tried to attend everything he could.  He was truly an amazing provider for his family.  Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, and brother.

Mike is survived by his wife, Candace Knauer of Frankton; mother and stepfather, Christie (Bill) Kinnett of Frankton; father, William “Bill” (Carolyn) Knauer of Daytona Beach, FL; 3 children, Elijah Knauer, Raegan Knauer, and Braelynn Knauer; 3 siblings, Kevin (Kristin) Knauer of Frankton, Heath Knauer of Fishers, and Hilary (Justin) Stone of Elwood; mother-in-law, Carrie (Rick) Greene of Tipton; father-in-law, Mark Henry of Puerto Rico; brothers and sisters in law, Josh (Amanda) Greene of Fishers, Brooke Greene of Kokomo, Stephanie (Gary) Spradlin of Virginia, and Derrick Greene of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mike is preceded in death by all his grandparents.

A funeral service celebrating Mike’s life and faith will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Florida Station Church of God, 1045 W. 375 N. Anderson, IN 46011, with Pastor Jerry Hilligoss and Pastor Doug Doan officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral at Frankton K. of P. – I.O.O.F Cemetery in Frankton.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Florida Station Church of God prior to the service.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood is honored to handle Michael’s funeral arrangements.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Florida Station Church of God of a fund that will be established for his children through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
