Not sure what to say?

Michael or as my Dad would call him just Knust was a guitar god and longtime friend of my pops. Here's an old photo I found of Michael, JC Black, Leland Parks, and my dad Charlie Preacher Keen at a recording studio somewhere circa 1990

I met Michael in the late 90s on a flight from Dallas to Denver. He told me about his accident and that he couldnt play any more. I told him about my singer songwriter/ guitar playing buddy Jerry Tegarden who also lost feeling in his left hand but recovered. I hooked the two together and I know they talked by phone a couple times. Jerry had recovered feeling in his hand and was playing again. Thats why Michael wanted to talk with him.

Im wondering if any of his family have any...

So very sad to learn of Michael's passing. I was lucky enough to have Michael as a guitar teacher at Dale Mullins studio. My experiences with Michael were always magical. I will always remember them when I play. Their spirits sing on in the music they inspired.

Michael you will be missed but will allways be in our Hearts. We went to school together and shared many a fun times together at the beach and getting to listen to your musical talent. You were Blessed and your family was Blessed with you.

Michael, although I never had the pleasure of meeting you in person I was a great admirer of your talents. My thoughts, prayers, and sympathy to your family on losing you at much too young an age.

Michael ~ the man and the music ~ one and the same. The man and the music will be forever in our hearts and in our home. Our deapest sympathy goes out to the family. A great loss.

Michael,
I discovered your group in the 60's when you came out with "Hey Mister" and "Steve Lenore" (B-side). It made me an instant fan. I still have the 45-rpm version!

Over the next few years, I got to see you at Love Street and other Houston clubs. I was the lead singer of The Elastic Prism at the time and had the honor of opening for Fever Tree at the Catacombs Club and St. Bernard Hall back in the late 60's. I still remember the GREAT music and light shows you guys...

My condolenences to the Knust family.Michael was the best kind of person you could ever have as a friend.
