Michael D. Koets

I've been neighbors with the Koets virtually my entire life, including when both families relocated from my childhood neighborhood to their current homes. They are more family to me than neighbors. Mike was a wonderful person, always greeting me with a smile. And so helpful throughout the years. I am saddened that he is no longer with us. Mike's Family, I have only known Mike & Kathy for a short time; through Bible study and services at Portage Chapel Hill UM Church. They were so friendly from the first day I met them and were very versed in the Bible. A couple that you wanted to call 'friends' from the beginning. Our sympathies go out to all the family. I lived in a neighborhood that backed up to where he grew up and I was a homebound student for our sophomore year with major health issues. He was (as mentioned) the kindest person and my of my good friends and would visit me often which always gave me a big boost which I needed during that time. He was a true person who cared and gave of himself. I have thought of him through the years for the friend he became to me.

Mike was a dear cousin who will be dearly missed. May God give Kathy and the family strength to weather this most difficult time.
