I can't believe it's a year already since Mike ,so suddenly and unexpectedly, went on his final journey!!!

I know it's been heartbreakingly hard on you Susan--the first year is so fraught with special occassions--birthdays, anniversaries and Holidays--that only add to the pain of missing him on a daily basis!

Just want you to know ,Susan, that I think of you and Leah often and hope that the passage of time sweetens memories and lessens the sharp bite of the pain of loss!!!

Love and peace Lynne

I met Mike at Bryant in 1993 and we took many classes together. Aside from admiring how good he was with his studies, Mike was a good friend of mine during those years and we spent many nights talking about life. Mike always had something interesting to say. I am sad to find he has passed and my sympathy goes out to his family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike and I were college buddies at Bryant University. Mike was always an inspiration to everyone he met. I will miss him greatly. He will always be an inspiration to me. I'll miss you buddy!

I am also one who met Mike via commuting - and very sad to learn of his passing. The walk from metro to VA was always enjoyable when we synched - his positive energy, optimistic perspective and humor were delightful and uplifting. He spoke fondly of his wife and daughter. He was a brilliant IT thinker - always creatively thinking 'what if' 'could be.' All class. The world needs more Mikes.

I just found out about Michael's death today from a fellow employee at DIA and am heartbroken. I worked with Michael at DIA. Michael and I spoke often at work mostly about family. I remember telling him that my cousin had a son who was blind and she decided to put him in public school and was receiving flak for that. Michael said his parents did the same thing to him and he was so grateful to his parents for doing that and for raising him the way they did. He gave me his phone number and told me to give it to my cousin in case she had any questions for him. Well today Ronnie is in college and taking two majors, plays the piano like a pro and sings. Michael always talked about how great Susan was. He loved her so much. I think it was brownies she made that were his favorite and he would bring me one to taste. When Leah came into the picture he emailed me and sent me pictures of her. He was so happy and she was his little girl. Michael had such a wonderful disposition, never complained and was always smiling, My life is so much better for knowing him. He was my inspiration, there was nothing I could not do. That is what Mike taught me. Rest in Peace Michael.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Michael's passing. We met back in the 1990's. Michael was a true and trusted friend. He was a gifted man of exceedingly high standards who never thought twice about pushing others to better themselves. Michael's positive vibe was absolutely contagious. He was one of the most intelligent, hard-working, generous, down to Earth individuals I have ever had the esteemed pleasure to know. He overcame numerous obstacles during his short life, providing an abundance of encouragement to others he met along the way. He would also take time out of his busy life to devote to his friends either one on one for dinner or in a group. Family, friends, fun. That's what Michael was about. I will also remember him for his interests including: computers, ham radio, pizza and fries. Whenever I saw or spoke with Michael, I always enjoyed the time we spent together. The world has lost a real gem of a person. Mike, you will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To the entire Kosior family, I send my heartfelt condolences. I remember Michael as a little boy and I remember him as a teenager. He impressed me with how well he got around the house and how he was as involved as the rest of you in the day to day activities. Although it's been decades since I last saw him in person. But, I saw him in print, doing good things for those around him and getting more done than most who had the gift of sight. I guess his way of seeing had more depth than most of us. I know all of you will miss him dearly. The world will miss him. We need more people like Michael. Like the title of one of my favorite songs, 'The Spirit Carries On'.

Our deepest condolences, prayers and hugs to Susan and Leah, Mr. and Mrs. Kosior and Family. We first met Mike "online" when our younger son, Justin, was born. We found ourselves raising a little guy with a big spirit who also happened to be blind and felt an instant connection with Mike. Mike had tremendous heart for others and was always there when anyone needed him. He had such a positive attitude and saw the humor in life. When I shared these thoughts with him, he attributed much of who he had become to his parents and the values they instilled in him. We had the opportunity to connect in person with Mike, Susan and adorable little Leah at a Boston conference a few years ago and carry memories from that time that we will always treasure.

As Mike's colleague at the Defense Intelligence Agency, I am sorry for your loss. He made a great contribution to the IT work there. He was bold and creative; he got the work done. I also enjoyed reading his facebook entries about his love for his family. May God bless and comfort you all.

Dear Susan and Leah, Mr. and Mrs. Kosior, Paula, Ellen, and Jack -- Because you all know Jack was family -- I have bragged about our Michael for years and spoke of his accomplishments to many. You can never imagine how his life story has inspired so very many of my blind clients of all ages to adopt a "can do" attitude. I believe Michael also got a real kick out of all he could do. The 16 year-old "big shot" proudly gave me a disk of a "new" computer program (was is Word?) to share with my husband, before we all knew much about PC's. As soon as he entered the computer world of work, he truly found his niche (thanks Jack) and accessibility. O&M lessons with Michael were so much like a visit with a younger brother -- the kind you love to be with. Who else ends a lesson with a bear hug? I will remember Michael and the Kosior family with so much warmth, and am grateful to have had some time getting to know this really beautiful man. My prayers are with Michael and with each of you. He really lived.

Susan and Leah... I am a co-worker who would occasionally assist Mike to and from the train station from our office... in the dozen or so trips we made over the last few months (one as recently as last week) I got to know Mike, enjoyed his company and conversation and considered him a friend; I am shocked and saddened to hear of his sudden passing. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers; I am so very sorry.

I just meant Michael recently at work while feeding my caffine habbit at work, I had the pleasure of asking him what he did for the Veterans Affairs, and truly he spoke with such passion of his job that it was truly inspiring to say that I meant him. I wish his family well, I know a loss of this extent will be difficult to overcome.

Susan and Leah, Our hearts go out to you and your family. As you know, Mike was a force that touched many people's lives in one way or another. Mike always had something wonderful to say about his greatest loves - his girls. Only after you girls came the computers, internet, radio, and this huge network of people that Mike amassed over his short time with us. Mike's nature of befriending everyone was truly special, and we are all lucky to have crossed paths and have had Mike in our lives. May God keep you strong to get through each coming day, and may find comfort knowing that he is an angel looking over you and Leah always.

Although I did not know Michael personally, I stood next to him many times on the platform waiting for the morning train to arrive. He had many friends along side of him, and many people including the train conductor would help direct him to step up into the train. He seem like such a nice person, I was shocked to see this in the paper. I feel like I lost a friend. My heart goes out to the family. God bless all of you.

Susan and Leah. I remember a few months ago when Mike got the new photos of Leah. He sent me an email almost as soon as he got to work. He was so proud of his family and he felt so good that he wanted to share that good feeling. He always wanted to share his good fortune and you and Leah seemed to be the center of his joy. Thank you for sharing him with me.
