Not sure what to say?

"Mr Kostek" was my social studies teacher at Oliver School as well. I can still remember his classroom in grade 9 just before the finals. He cheered us on. Later in life he visited my office, enthusiastically, in the Lemarchand Mansion during the renovation and releasing. I am sure many of that class will have fond mememories. RIP Mike.

I will miss you grampa and I am proud to carry on your name. Words will never be enough to express how grateful I am for everything you have done for me. Rest in peace...you certainly earned it.

Grandpa
Rest easy. You will always be the most interesting man in my world.

Dear Gwen &family
I was a fortunate Catholic Schools consultant who came to know Mike at home in Edmonton and then in Europe with DND We shared wonderful times as friends and family !! What a gifted historian and art connoiseur ! Proud to record him as my true Canuck hero.May you cherish his genuine memories

In 1959 Mr. Kostek was my Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Hardisty Jr High School. I will remember him as an outstanding teacher. He also intervened in my life four years later when my parents divorced and my life was in upheaval. He encouraged me to attend university despite break-up. How he found out about the break-up I don't know. He did have a way of keeping his fingers on the pulse of life. I did attend university and became a teacher. I can thank him for appearing in my...

Dear Lisa and David,
We were so sorry to learn of your dad's passing, although Julie assures us he was ready to go. Ben was fortunate to have known him if even for a short while. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you hold on to your precious memories. Rick and Myrna Lof

I came to know Mike when I was working at the City of Edmonton Archives. I looked forward to his frequent visits and knew I had entered another level of acceptance when he said to me 'welcome aboard'. He was extremely helpful, patient and knowledgeable about Edmonton history. I use to kid him about having a school named in his honour, telling him I didn't know King Edward, Princess Alexandra or Queen Victoria, but I know Sir Michael Kostek and he would laugh at the mere thought of it. A true...

Our children attended MAK between 2001-2009 and enjoyed Mr. Kostek's birthday visits. He wrote my son a lovely note upon receiving his birthday card when he found out Clark had done the artwork on the front. Both Clark & Alyssa have pictures with him in their grade 6 year and we will treasure these memories and more from a great school named for an even greater man. Blessings to Mr. Kostek's family.
Sincerely,
Miles, Lynne,Clark, and Alyssa Spencer

To Rod and Keith,
