Not sure what to say?

It is 7/21/12 today. I only learned the sad news a few days ago during a recent trip to Buffalo, NY - of my former Amsdell Jr High School music teacher, & later, fellow teaching colleague. I am heartbroken to learn about Mike's tragic death. During my school days, I remember seeing Mike spiffed up in white pants & navy blue blazer w/ gold buttons. I remember accompanying him on my oboe w/ Gene Zugger conducting the Amsdell band while Mike played the Mozart Clarinet Concerto. I remember his...

Mike was a loyal and valued member of our BYC Tues-Thurs Tennis Group. He will be Missed. Rod Gartner, Group Coordinator

I worked with Mike at Frontier Middle School and we were members in the Frontier Investment Club. Mike took the club members sailing a number of times.I always cherish those days and marveled at his sailing skills. He was also blessed with music, golf and people skills.

We were on vacation at the time of the accident, We share your sadness. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

Bernie and Beth Ryczek

We can only imagine the loss felt by Mary and her family and that of my parents, John and Doris Hill. Having spent many summers together and shared in each others joys and sorrows for decades, Mike will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Mary.

He was Uncle Mike to me, my mom's twin brother. She got older each birthday and for some strange reason, Uncle Mike stayed 29. I'll always remember stories of him blowing his candles out first, mom having to wait 7 minutes before blowing out hers. I also remember fondly, Grandma (Mary Kovach) being so proud of Uncle Mike. I admire his numerous artistic and musical talents, but far more, his ability to have touched deeply so many lives. That's a talent anyone can learn from someone like Uncle...

Mike is my twin. Growing up with him was wonderful and I am proud to have spent my life loving him. he will always be with me.

We lived with Mike and Mary every summer for 8 years. Yesterday at his memorial service we all heard about how much he gave to his friends in so many areas of his life. I thought about one of the most lovely things he did for our daughter Wendy after he died. She drove up to Pt. Abino to visit us the day after he died. We were sitting in the sunroom and on a tree right outside the window, hung the hummingbird feeder Mike had put up. "Oh my gosh," Wendy said, "a hummingbird. I've never ever...

Helpful, funny and kind. Mike meant the world to my family, and he will be forever missed.

One time sailing in the Carribean with Mary and my parents, we saw a whale just off the side of the boat. What joy! He was a true giver to those who were fortunate to be in his life, and I am glad I was one of them.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are with his wonderful and gracious Mary, as well as E-dee, Murph and the kids. With my love and compassion,

We have known the Kovach Family for many years now and have always enjoyed our visits with Mike, Mary, Edee, Murph, and the kids. Mike will be missed on our next trip to the States. He always had my son Patrick going for hours about computers. He was always a good golf partner who played with enthusiasm and knew the rules well enough to utilize them to his and his partners advantage. Fun to play with. He was just a very helpful guy and a nice one. We are thinking about the Family and our...
