Michael Edward Kromer, 76


of Dawson passed away at 6:26 am Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Mike was born April 13, 1948 in Star Junction, Fayette County, a son of the late Michael and Mildred (Pindro) Kromer. He married Brenda Joyce (Newell) Kromer on April 20, 2007.


 



Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was employed as an electrician, motor armature connector, and robot machine winder with Peerless Winsmith Inc. of Warren, OH for 35 years and affiliated with the Dawson Baptist Church. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a sergeant during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal with two overseas bars, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Mike enjoyed fishing, going to casinos, and doting over his beloved grandchildren. 


 



Mike will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of 17 years, Brenda Joyce (Newell) Kromer; his three children, Tamara Kromer, Michael Kromer, and Jeffrey Kromer and wife Megan and their mother, Rita Atmanchick Kromer; his two step children, Michelle Plissey and husband Douglas and Jason Hayes and wife Amber; his eight grandchildren, Lauren and Skylar Kromer, Aidan Kelly, Kaitlyn and Evan Kromer, Nathaniel Plissey and wife Jessica, Brad Plissey, and Bryson Hayes; and his great grandson, Andrew Plissey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Michelle Cavanaugh.


 



Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Private viewing and service with Pastor Lonnie Rittenour officiating will be held at the convenience of the family. Chapel committal service and interment will follow in Dickerson Run Union Cemetery. Full military honors will be bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Burial Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to: Dawson Baptist Church in Mike’s memory. Love Lasts Forever!
