Michael Kubly

Michael J. Kubly, age 44 passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 from the result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 19, 1970 in Madison and was the son of Samuel and Patricia (Dunn) Kubly. Mike graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1988. He married Carmen Firme on December 14, 1996 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. Mike worked in construction his whole life and had his own company for the past 20 years. To know Mike was to love him. Mike formed a bond with everyone he met whether they were 2 or 92. Mike loved to spend time in the gym watching Amanda do gymnastics and more recently at the rink watching her play hockey. Mike taught Ryan everything from hunting to fishing to making cribbage boards. Mike was always on the sidelines at Ryan's ball games but he loved most of all to watch him play hockey. As the youngest of 17, he was the foundation for his family. His passing will forever leave a void. He is survived by his wife Carmen, daughter of Carl and Gelane Firme; his children, Amanda and Ryan; his mother Patricia; brothers, Bill (Mary), Dennis (Taffee); sisters, Sharon Draeger, Darlene (Dennis) Landen, Kathy (Ron) Thorson, Jean Kubly, Bonnie Kubly, Mary Kubly, Debbie (Rick) Suchomel, Diane (Lee) Anderson, Connie Kubly, Karin Finken, Patti (Bob) Brown, Pam Harberg; a sister-in-law Geri Kubly; a brother-in-law Craig Firme; aunt Mary Dunn; uncle Leonard Dunn and 42 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Samuel and 2 brothers Tom and Jeff. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 Madison Street in Marshall. Pastor Paul Anderson will preside. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Thursday. A memorial fund is being established for Mike's children.
