Michael always had a smile on his face in the Math Department. He made everyone feel welcome and happy. He was the first professor I went out to lunch with twenty years ago and we drove by and admired his property in China. He will be missed.

Although he was a Faculty member in another department (Mathematics), Dr. Laidacker dedicated his last two decades or so in tackling the most central problem in Computer Science, the famous P=NP. We supported his efforts toward proving this conjecture and appreciated his diligence. We are truly sorry that Dr. Laidacker passed away.
