Michael "Mike" Lanier

So very sad to hear of Mike’s passing. What a beautiful soul Mike was and will remain. He was generous, kind, genuine and talented far beyond most creatives.

It was our huge honor to know Mike and we will carry him always in our heart, mind and prayers.

When I first arrived in Abilene, I asked around where artists gathered, and I was directed to Mike’s Studio 13. I found my way there and went in. I was welcomed by several artists who were painting and clearly enjoying themselves. Then
I met Mike and realized that he was the reason the artists were so congenial.

Mike’s personality permeated the studio that was an art home to 30+ artists over many years. He was the champion of the arts in Abilene and an excellent, successful...

Mike, our class gatherings will never be the same without you! You were the life of the party wherever you were, and you will be very missed! You were one of the nicest, kindest, and most talented men on this earth! Your paintings were a gift of God and now you are in His presence and thanking Him personally for that special gift! You will paint glorious portraits of all who left us too soon! We love you, dear friend
