Michael Albert Lemp MD

Mike was a man of boundless energy who left a legacy of accomplishments in Science and Medicine while enjoying the world of History, Art and Religion. I treasure memories of travel through Europe, tennis matches on the Georgetown courts and reunions in Sarasota and Lake Wales. My best wishes to Joan the their children. We were blessed to know him.

What a lovely tribute to your Dad/Grandfather. My thoughts are with all of you as you grieve but also celebrate his rich, full life!

Mike was a friend and mentor for many years as we worked on various dry eye projects. I greatly appreciated his help and guidance. I will miss him as will many others. My prayers and condolences go out to Joan and the family.

The world has darkened with the passing of the kind, erudite, truly special Michael Lemp. He had just taken over the Chairmanship of the Department of Ophthalmology at Georgetown when I started my residency. His contributions to the field and training of so many excellent doctors in what felt like a direct line from Claus Dohlman at Harvard touched more doctors and patients than can be counted. Despite his fame and reputation, he remained modest, kind and a remarkably good human being....
