I am so sad to learn of Michael's passing. I am forever grateful for his registering me for the est training in 1982. We kept in touch now and then over the years, and I always looked forward to his wisdom, his menschlichkeit, his humor, and his love for humanity. It's been a privilege knowing him, and I wish Nancy and family peace and gladness knowing that they shared a truly wonderful, interesting life, and made a lasting impact on those they have touched. -- Bill Weber and Joan Zeluck

Michael was and is a Mensch. He was a warrior of possibility, fearless in action, generous of spirit and fun to be with. I honor him as a champion and pioneer of the "Work of EST...Landmark Education" and the Hunger Project. If it were not for Michael and those he played and worked with I would not have the life I now live. He made a space big enough for all of us to participate in. I love him and admire him.

Michael hired me back in 1969 to work at Rapidata. He will always be one of my all time greatest bosses, whom I quote from time to time. He was also a great friend, and will live on in a special place in my heart. Hugs and prayers to Nancy and the children.

Michael was "reasonably unreasonable," and those of us who were privileged to work with him know just how much got done when he looked us in the eyes and said "let's do this." I am honored to call him my friend.

I knew Michael through the old Est training and loved the direction his life was going and the commitment he had to the ideas he believed in. Though I have not seen him in 20 years, he was a person so "big" and loving that I have never forgotten him. My condolences to his family. Judy Townsend, Shanghai, China
