My deepest condolences and best wishes to Mike's family and friends. Mike was a joy to work with in the old Syracuse Opera scene shop and backstage at the Civic Center "back in the day", and I know he will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. Godspeed, Mike... Make him laugh...

Our business relationship with Mike started with music. My husband Dave Chu was playing at Jalapeño's and this friendly-looking guy was dining alone, so my girlfriend and I invited him to join us. It was then that I learned he was an electrician, so he ended up doing quite a number of jobs large and small for us. He was such a calm, qualified, and professional presence on the job, and we always learned something from him. We're deeply saddened by his passing and feel blessed to have known...

Very sad news, and unexpected. It's been thirty-five years since I last saw Mike. It doesn't feel that long at all.
My first musical endeavors were with were with Mike and friends in the Locurcio's basement. He was ahead of his years; a fast learner, a natural musician and inspiring at times. It was with Mike that I first heard music by Zappa, Hendrix, Cream, the Byrds, etc. We listened to the Beatles White Album all the way through and then played it all again.

I worked with Mike as an adjudicator at the Talent Showcase at the New York State Fair for several years. As a stagehand, Mike always impressed me with his friendliness,expertise and sense of humor. I will miss him and our conversations during lunch hour. My condolences to his family.
