Good morning! Condolences to you and your family! I am Florian's brother, Micu Cristian. My brother died in 2021 and was personal car driver of sir Michael Leoning. My brother told me about your father that he was a special man, very kind and gentle as you rarely meet. My brother told me that in every morning they met, when pick up your father from home, they usually stoped to take breakfast together, and your dear father was very kind and always bought to my brother sandwhiches too, so they...

I was a legal secretary at Everett, Johnson & Breckenridge back in the late 70s. He was indeed a gentleman and always kind, never saw him lose his patience or speak crossly to anyone. My condolences to his family. You were truly blessed to have him in your life for so long.

May I extend my deep and heartfelt condolences to Michael´s family. I have had the privilege of knowing Michael since childhood in Germany. At that time I knew him by his middle name, Jürgen. In the years before World War II, our summer vacations would bring us together when my mother and I were guests of Clara Rilke, wife of the renowned poet Rainer Maria Rilke, who lived near the lovely summer home of the Lönings in the artists village of Fischerhude. I have most pleasant memories of...

I had the honor of sharing the Board of Managers of The Havens Relief Fund Society since 1974 with Michael. We tackled many issues together and he always treated me with respect as I did him. We had numerous Havens related conversations over the years and his knowledge was amazing. He taught me alot. I believe he is at peace and I send my deepest condolences to his family. The time is never right, but the memories last forever. Thank you Michael.

Without Mr. Loening´s hiring me from UVA Law and mentoring me at Everett, Johnson &Breckinridge, I would not have become the tax attorney I am today. Moreover, his many kindnesses and those of Mrs. Loening caused me to feel quite at home in Manhattan. Mr. Loening had the most vibrant international tax practice of all the attorneys at EJB. He taught me how to analyze cross-border corporate structures and transactions. On top of it all EJB financed much of my LLM at NYU which allowed me to...
