Your Dad will live on in my memory even though I can only recall visiting with him on a few occasions. As an adult I remember visiting all of you at Michael and Gerda's house in Tampa. My mother insisted we go to visit you on the return to Hollywood from a Christmas trip to Epcot Center. I think it was 1993. Dear Carm, Joseph and Michael,

I am saddened to hear of your father's death. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I am grateful to have grown up as your next-door neighbor. Even when I was an adult and I'd see your Dad down the YMCA, he always had a big smile and a "Hiya, Gar'" for me. Mike was one of those 'larger than life people' for me.
