"The Dream, The Land"

I met Michael briefly at EMU in 1985 when I purchased one of his photographs: “The Dream, The Land”. This image inspired me over the years to follow my own photographic path. Condolences to his family and friends

Dear Martel Family,
I was shocked to read a notice of Mike's passing in the Eastern Michigan University Alumni magazine. I'm so sorry for your loss. Mike and I dated for a while in college and I have a lot of happy memories of the time we spent together in the first few years of college. Though we lost touch after we graduated, he is someone I will always carry in my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. God Bless. Christine Buysse Hoban

Dear Martel Family,

I knew Mike (Mario) through working with him in Burlington and would occasionally run into him at Mad River Glen. He had a good heart and he always had a smile! I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Gerry, Judy and family ~
I was shocked to hear of Mike's passing. I was fortunate enough to run into him at the Essex Country Club in 2008 - hadn't seen him for a long time but he immediately said hi when he saw me, and we had a brief but nice visit. He always had a warm smile and friendly disposition. My condolences to all of you at this time.

We're so very sorry to hear about Michael. Please know we're thinking of you in your time of sorrow. John & Linda Gariepy
