Sister Michael Mary

I had come from California and my parents enrolled me in Divine Redeemer around 1982. The first day of school I was very nervous and when I sat down in Sister Michael Mary's class, she asked me, "Do you want to be called Richard, Rick, or Dick?" I said you can call me anything but Dick. She was a stern teacher but very good and I learned a lot from her. I have not been to Divine Redeemer in about 40 years but she always lives in my memory. Thank you Sister Michael Mary!

I had Sister Michael Mary at D.R. in the very early 60s. She was the sweetest, kindest nun you ever met, even inspiring me to think I wanted to become a nun (I didn't--it takes a wonderful, special person to do that, a person just like Sister).

God bless you, Sister, and rest in peace. This is one little first grader who loved you to pieces.
