To the family of CPL Mayne,

I just wanted to let you know that I proudly carried Michael's name upon my chest during the "I did the Grid" race on Saturday May 24th in East Northport, NY to honor his service and to remember his life. We will never forget....

My condolences on your tragic loss.

Proud father of fallen Marine LCpl Jordan C. Haerter.

Cpl. Michael L. Mayne will always be remembered. Thank you. Lee and Cathy, I did'nt know Michael, wish I had. Things they told about Michael will be with me forever. It was a pleasure to meet you both.

Mikey,
I drive by those beautiful flags -your Eagle Scout project-at least 5 days per week. To the right is your home. A smile comes over me knowing you are a hero and an achiever at such a young age.

How blessed your family, friends, and fellow soldiers have been to have had you in their lives. And those kids you gave to during a time of war. Never selfish, and forever remembered with love.

norris burkes - chaplain at Balad - please email me. Mike's mom - [email protected]

TO friends and family,

I was the chaplain at Balad where your son was taken in hopes of saving him. We did all we could and it was the saddest day we'd spent when we couldn't save him. Blessings on your family this day
